AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDENT SOCIAL WORK ORGANIZATION
African American Student Social Work Association: The African American Social Work Student Association (AASSWA) is a student group composed of graduate and undergraduate social work students. The members of the organization have committed themselves collectively to the interest of improving social conditions and developing an awareness of the African American individual lifestyle, the African American family, and the African American community. BLACK FACULTY AND STAFF ASSOCIATION (BFSA)
The Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) aspires to create a campus climate that is inviting, nurturing, and hospitable. It is dedicated to establishing a proactive environment that is supportive of the recruitment and retention of Black faculty, staff and students. It promotes programs that lead to the better understanding and teaching of Black students. Decision-making and accountability are shared, creating an environment that is vital, challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable. The Association makes a difference – it enriches the lives of the campus community.

BLACK STUDENT UNITED (BSU)
(May, 2006) California State University, Fresno, Black Students United was created to promote culture awareness amongst people of the African Diaspora. The African Diaspora includes Black people from all parts of the world such as Africa, Caribbean, West Indies, and America. Black Students United is open to people of all ethnicities. We focus on informing students, faculty/staff, and the community about the history and current concerns of people of the African Diaspora. BLACK STUDENTS UNITED *DANCE XPRESS*
Black Students United presents *Dance Xpress* as and outlet for Success. *Dance Xpress*, as a Dance Club, focuses on bringing a group of Talented students together to support, and represent California State University, Fresno positively. By maintaining suitable grade point averages, getting involved with the community and school, and xpressing life through the Art of Dance, *Dance Xpress* will point College as an immediate essential to the Adult Transition.

THE FRESNO STATE GOSPEL CHOIR
The Fresno State Gospel Choir was formed in the 1970s to introduce performances of a variety of inspirational songs reflecting the African American cultural experience. Open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members, the choir includes a diverse group of believers from different ethnic, racial, cultural, and national backgrounds. POETRY JAM
An eclectic evening of poetry, music, and sheer entertainment. An excellent opportunity for novice and experience poets alike to read their work. Designed to provide a place for self expression, critical thinking and artistic value while promoting cultural diversity, awareness of the importance of honoring each others' race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.
