Student Success Services

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides an array of services to support first-generation, low-income, educationally disadvantaged college students. These services are designed to create an environment that fosters a sense of community, promotes integration into the university, encourages use of campus resources, and guides students to achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.

SUMMER BRIDGE
Summer Bridge is a three-week long, supervised residential program experience that allows first-time freshmen students to experience the California State University , Fresno environment prior to their enrollment in the fall term. Through structured and integrated activities, students are prepared to meet the demands of the university and bridge the gap between high school and university life. Students are introduced to campus resources, academic policies and procedures, library services, and a variety of services available on campus. Students follow a rigorous academic schedule that includes instruction in writing, math, computer technology, reading, study skills, and cultural diversity.

Students participating in Summer Bridge can earn university credits that count toward graduation. Statistics consistently show that Summer Bridge students complete more units, achieve higher grade point averages, have lower dropout rates, and graduate at higher rates than similar students who do not participate in the program.
